About Our Experts

Ashlie Saffire, DVM, DABVP (Feline)

Dr. Ashlie Saffire is a graduate of The Ohio State College of Veterinary Medicine Class of 2011, and became board certified in feline medicine in 2018. Dr. Saffire has been a part of the Cats Only Veterinary Clinic team since relocating to Columbus in 2015 from her home town of Buffalo, NY, and became medical director in 2019.

Dr. Saffire specializes in feline internal medicine and management of complex disease processes and disorders. She is fluent in minimally invasive diagnostics such as abdominal ultrasound and fine needle aspiration in addition to advanced feline-specific surgical procedures including perineal urethrostomies for urinary obstructions, ventral bulla osteotomies for removal of middle ear polyps, subtotal colectomies for treatment of megacolon, placement of feeding tubes, oncologic surgery, advanced feline dentistry and more.

Dr. Ernie Ward is an award-winning veterinarian, internationally known speaker, impact entrepreneur, author of several books, magazine columnist, and media personality. He was voted Speaker of the Year at both VMX and WVC conferences, the 2018 Veterinary Journalist of the Year, and has received many veterinary and civic recognitions throughout his career. When he’s not with family or pet patients, he can be found contemplating solutions for both the veterinary profession and planet during endurance athletics, meditation, and on his weekly podcast the Veterinary Viewfinder or “Opening Shots,” in NAVC’s “Today’s Veterinary Business.”
